Download Boracay Dive Brochure pdf |
Location: Off the north beach of Boracay. |
Access: 20 mins. north by boat and around to the north-northwest face of Boracay, east of Yapak 2. |
Average Depth: 35m (115ft) |
Maximum Depth: 50m (165ft) |
Conditions: Usually dived when the weather is rough, so expect a strong current. Visibility can reach 25m.(80ft) on a flood tide. |
This dive is for the experienced only. It is usually visited for excitement when the weather is too rough for Yapak 2, and is best dived on a flood tide. A wall rises to 30m (100ft), running east-to-west all the way to Yapak 1. Divers must quickly descend to the wall and get into its shelter. The wall itself has plenty of interesting soft corals, gorgonians and stony corals, together with a myriad of reef fish, but the main object of the dive is to look out into the blue water where, in a strong current, almost anything could pass by. Schools of Jacks, Surgeonfish, Rainbow Runners, Sweetlips and Batfish are common, but larger animals are frequently seen, including large Groupers, Napoleon Wrasse, Turtles, Whitetip Reef Sharks and Grey Reef Sharks. |
Location: Situated just northwest of Guiniuit Point, the northwest point of Boracay. |
Access: 20 minutes north by boat. |
Average Depth: 35m (115ft) |
Maximum Depth: (210ft) |
Conditions: These sites are best dived on a strong flood tide, when there are strong and unpredictable currents. Surface conditions can be rough with visibility up to 25m (80ft). |
|
By common consent, this is the most exciting diving off Boracay and the site that all the Divemasters head for when they have a strong enough group. A rich wall, rising to 100ft runs north-to-south except for the southernmost, 165ft which runs west-to-east. At the southern end, there is a chimney for descent and exit 130ft. The dive requires a fast descent to the shelter of the wall, regardless of surface conditions. The main object of the dive is to look out into the blue. There are large schools of fishes, such as Surgeonfish, Barracudas, and the like. These dives are only for the experienced and not just for anybody. |
Location: Situated west-southwest of Guiniuit Point. |
Access: 15 minutes north by boat until opposite Punta Bunga. |
Average Depth: 18m (60ft) |
Maximum Depth: 45m (150ft) |
Conditions: This site is usually dived in calm conditions, with little current and visibility reaching 20m (60ft). |
|
This site is the start of the series of walls that run on to Yapak and Bel-At. The main site is an easy dive with a drop-off at the southern end, which is covered in soft corals, while the sandy bottom has patches of stony corals with Jacks, Stingrays, Groupers, Triggerfish, Sweetlips, Angelfish, Butterflyfish, Cornetfish, Trumpetfish, Pufferfish, Lionfish, Sea Stars and Sea Cucumbers. The northern end which runs into a series of four short walls is similar to a scaled down impression of Yapak. |
Location: Situated northwest of Diniuid. |
Access: 10 minutes north by boat. |
Average Depth: 50ft |
Maximum Depth: 25m (80ft) |
Conditions: This site is ordinarily calm with occasionally slight current and with visibility of up to 25m (80ft). |
|
A rich coral garden runs down a gentle slope from 23ft to 33ft (10m), then you go over the drop-off down to sand at 80ft. The drop-off itself runs north-to-south for 656ft. The coral garden has profuse soft, leathery and Acropora table corals, and there are good stony corals down the drop-off. There is a fine variety of reef fishes, including Surgeonfish, Butterflyfish, Angelfish, Damselfish, Lionfish, Scorpionfish, Pufferfish, Parrotfish and Chromis, with Lizardfish, Blue Spotted Lagoon Rays, Sea Stars and Sea Cucumbers down on the sand. |
Location: Situated southwest of Diniuid. |
Access: 10 minutes north by boat. |
Average Depth: 60ft |
Maximum Depth: 60ft |
Conditions: This site is generally calm with some current and with visibility of up to 25m (80ft). |
|
Friday's Rock itself is a large boulder rising from sand at 60ft, with its top at 23ft. The sand beside the rock is used by local dive operators as a fun dive with fish-feeding, so the fish come at you as you approach (but please don't be tempted to feed them). Around 65ft inshore of Friday's Rock, there is a good coral garden at 45ft. There is a large variety of reef fishes which will approach, hoping to be fed. On the sand there are Blue-Spotted Lagoon Rays, Moray Eels, Ribbon Eels, Lankier Starfish, Choriaster Cushion Starfish, Pincushion Starfish and Sea Cucumbers. |
Location: Situated southwest of Diniuid. |
Access: 10 minutes north by boat. |
Average Depth: 14m (40ft) |
Maximum Depth: 36m (100ft) |
Conditions: Current can suddenly pick up during tidal changes. |
|
A drop-off which goes down as deep as 50m at some stage. This wall is ideal for deep diving as well as deep dive training. Occasionally, tidal changes may occur making it perfect for drift diving. Hard and Soft Corals are present on your descent to the wall wherein the reef drops down from 14m to 36m. Large Gorgonian Sea Fans and Crinoids provide colourful hiding spots for Bass, Moray Eels, and Nudibranchs, living in the cracks and crevices of the wall. Rays are sometimes seen gliding through the thermoclines during tidal changes. This site is definitely only for the experienced and adventurous divers. |
Location: Situated west of Balabag. |
Access: 10 minutes north by boat. |
Average Depth: 45ft |
Maximum Depth: 54ft |
Conditions: This site is ordinarily calm with some slight current and with visibility of up to 65ft. |
|
Lobster Rock, is a large rock rising from 54ft to 33ft (10m), is the standard night dive for advanced courses locally. There is a small colony of Spiny Lobsters, plus Surgeonfish, Angelfish, Butterflyfish, Damselfish and Sergeant Majors, most of which hide in holes in the reef at night, when Crabs, Shrimps, Moray Eels and Shellfish come out to feed. |
Location: Situated just right off the main beach. |
Access: 5 minutes by boat. |
Average Depth: 6m (20ft) |
Maximum Depth: 12m (40ft) |
Conditions: This site is generally calm with little to no current and with visibility of up to 25m (80ft). |
|
This dive site is right off the main beach and usually has calm and clear conditions with excellent visibility. It is ideal for beginners, training and check-out dives as well as a favourite Snorkelling Dive Spot. It is a popular fish feeding area, so expect to encounter Sergeant Majors, Butterflyfish, and Batfish crowding around the area. Damselfish, Sea Cucumbers, Sea Urchins, and various species of Downfish are quite common. Assorted Hard and Soft Corals are also plentiful in the area. |
Location: Situated along the reefs in front of Greenyard and Angol. |
Access: 5 minutes by boat or a long swim off White Sand Beach. |
Average Depth: 23ft |
Maximum Depth: 33ft |
Conditions: Ordinarily calm and with visibility of up to 50ft. |
|
This is the house reef that runs
down the front of the beach, used for beginners, training dives and
check-out dives, as well as for its good snorkeling. It is also a favourite
for night dives and a good spot for Macro Photography. The reef has a very
gentle slope, mixed sand and small stony corals, Leather Corals,
Nudibranchs, Anemones, Clownfish, Sea Grasses, Damselfish, Sea Stars, Sea
Cucumbers and Sea Urchins. |
Location: Situated on the east side of Boracay. |

Conditions: Drift with the current, usually very light to moderate and with visibility of 10-25 meters. |
|
This is an accessible dive site,
well suited for beginners, as well as professionals alike. The rock
formations are magnificent and the diving area is quite large. Hard and Soft
Corals, with a great diversity of Clams in different sizes, and various
species of Anemones abound in the area. Also common are - Scorpionfish,
Butterflyfish, Lionfish, Stonefish, Sea Squirts and Feather Stars. |

Average Depth: 33ft |
Maximum Depth: 80ft |
Conditions: Currents can be fierce except at slack tide and with visibility of up to 25m (80ft). |
|
From a distance, this small
uninhabited island resembles the head of a crocodile. The shallow reef-top
is good for snorkeling, although snorkelers should be careful of the strong
currents. On the south side, a drop-off 197ft long goes down from 23ft to 80
ft. It has a beautiful collection of Soft, Leathery and Stony Corals. The
top of the drop-off is a gently sloping wall with several small canyons and
caves containing a wide diversity of fish such as; Parrotfish, Angelfish,
Bannerfish, Pennantfish, Sea Cucumbers and Sea Urchins, etc. |
Location: Situated at the northeast side of Laurel Island, east of the southern tip of Boracay. |
Access: 20 minutes by boat south and then east along the Tabon Strait. |
Average Depth: 16ft |
Maximum Depth: 65ft |
Conditions: Usually calm, but currents can be very fierce and with visibility of up to 30m (100ft). |
|
This small island has an extraordinary tunnel swim-thru 826ft. long, it is best dived as a drift when the current is strong. It is filled with Soft Corals and Nudibranchs, perfect for night dives. It has sloping walls with healthy Corals and wide array of prolific fish life.
Laurel is suitable fun dive for snorkelers and photographers |
Location: Situated directly east of Laurel Island. |
Access: 20 minutes by boat south and then east through the Tabon Strait. |
Average Depth: 50ft |
Maximum Depth: 65ft |
Conditions: Usually a drift-dive in rainy season, but can have very strong currents and visibility averages 65ft. |
|
The area is only dived during rising tide. The currents are strong so extra care should be taken when diving but it is generally a gentle drift along the reef. A north-to-south wall that is not dived often, so there is little anchor damage and good fish life. Most of the area is covered with an amazing variety of Soft Corals, perfect for Macro Photography. |
Location: Situated at the Tabon Strait. |
Access: 15 minutes south by boat to the Tabon Strait. |
Average Depth: 60ft |
Maximum Depth: 115ft |
Conditions: Very strong currents; it can be tricky and rough on the surface, with visibility of up to 20m (65ft) |
|
Channel Drift is also referred to as the Channel Steps. A splendid dive site for beginners and experienced divers depending on the currents. Strong tidal currents flow through the Tabon Strait with great force, taking divers on a joy ride through canyons and crevices, where smaller fish take refuge and bigger fish wait for the current to bring them food. Coral growth in here is very impressive and occasionally White Tip Reef Sharks and Trevallies are sighted. Other cracks and crevices protect Groupers, Batfish and Sweetlips while Stingrays and Garden Eels are found on the sand. |
Location: Situated on the eastside of Caticlan. |
Access: 20 minutes by boat south and then east through the Tabon Strait. |
Average Depth: 50ft |
Maximum Depth: 80ft |
Conditions: Usually dived as a sheltered site in Bad weather, with visibility averaging 20m (65ft). |
|
A bad weather dive site, shelving off to 80ft on sand with Coral Outcrops, Groupers, Snappers, Batfish, Sweetlips, Moray Eels, Garden Eels, Angelfish and Butterflyfish. |
Location: Situated at the northwest corner of Panay Island. |
Access: 25 minutes south by boat. |
Average Depth: open |
Maximum Depth: 115ft |
Conditions: Generally calm with a gentle current, but can become very rough with strong current, with visibility averaging 80ft. |
|
The site is a slope from 5m to 35m with boulders and canyons, so that unwary beginners may find themselves indulging in saw-tooth diving. The top 33ft is the best, because of its Soft Corals and Gorgonians. The fish life is limited, except when a strong current is running, but there is a good chance of seeing a turtle. But this is a dive to do for its topography - to swim thru the rocks. |
Location: Situated south of Nasog Point. |
Access: 25 minutes south by boat to the west side of Panay Island. |
Average Depth: 65ft |
Maximum Depth: 100ft |
Conditions: Usually calm, with a medium strong current, with visibility of up to 25m (80ft). |
|
This 200m (656ft) to 300m (984ft) wall, running north-to-south, drops from 6m (20ft) to 30m (100ft) and abounds with caves, holes and crevices. There are a lot more fish life here than in Nasog Point, including Groupers, Snappers, and Pufferfish; there are also Spiny Lobsters, Soldierfish, Squirrelfish, Cardinalfish, Sweepers, schools of juvenile Sweetlips, Batfish and Fusiliers. |
Location: Situated offshore from Buruanga village. |
Access: 35 min south by boat until off Buruanga, on the west side of Panay Island, south of Dog Drift and Nasog Point. |
Average Depth: 65ft |
Maximum Depth: 130ft |
Conditions: Sheltered, though there can be strong currents, with visibility of up to 30m (100ft). |
|
The reef-top is a gentle slope from 5m (16ft) to 7m (23ft) covered in good soft, leathery, and stony corals. From 7m (23ft), the drop-off goes down to 40m (130ft), where there is a cave. There is everything on this wall, including Spiny Lobsters, Squid, Titan, Redtooth and Clown Triggerfish, Pufferfish, Lionfish, Scorpionfish, Soldierfish, Squirrelfish, Cardinalfish, Anthias, Chromis, most Angelfish and Butterflyfish, Moorish Idols, Bennerfish, Penantfish, Hawkfish, Jacks, Tuna, Barracuda, Snappers, and Sweetlips. Absolutely a Photographers dive. |
Location: Situated south of Buruanga. |
Access: 35 minutes south by boat to the west face of Panay Island. |
Average Depth: 80ft |
Maximum Depth: 130ft |
Conditions: Usually calm, but it can get rough with a strong current, with visibility of up to 25m (80ft). |
|
Black Rock sticks out of the and offers very good diving. The west side is a wall with caves at the bottom, good pelagic fish life and occasionally you may see Hammerhead Sharks. This is a very big cave with a large entrance, so apart from the depth, it is safe for novice divers. At the back of the cave, there are many cracks and fissures which often contain sleeping big fish, including Whitetip Reef Sharks. There is a good fish life, and there is the chance you might see some large pelagic species. |
Location: Situated at the centre of the east face of Carabao Island. |
Access: 1 hour and 10 minutes north by boat. |
Average Depth: 50ft |
Maximum Depth: 80ft |
Conditions: Generally calm, with occasionally a slight current, with visibility of up to 25m (80ft). |
|
A rich coral garden on a gentle slope from 23 to 33ft, followed by a drop-off down to sand at 25m (80ft). The drop-off itself runs north to south for 200m (660ft). The coral garden has profuse soft, leathery, and table corals, and there are good stony corals down the drop-off. There is a large variety of Reef Fishes such as; Surgeonfish, Butterflyfish and the like with Blue-Spotted Lagoon Rays, Sea Stars and Sea Cucumbers down on the sand. |
Location: Situated just north of the southeast corner of Carabao Island. |

Conditions: Generally calm, but can be rough, usually some current, which can be strong, with visibility of up to 25m (80ft). |
|
A big wall, 200m (660ft) long, drops from 10m (33ft) down to 40m (130ft) with caves, good soft, leathery and stony corals on the reef-top and prolific fish life on and off the wall. Whitetip Reef and Grey Reef Sharks have been spotted here. The fish include; Batfish, Snappers, Sweetlips, Jacks, Trumpetfish, Cornetfish, Cardinalfish, Soldierfish, Squirrelfish, Hawkfish, Fusiliers, Titan and Orange-Stripped Triggerfish, Map, Star and Bandit Pufferfish, Anthias, Chromis, Damselfish, Sergeant Majors, and Anemones with Clownfish as well as pelagic species. |
Location: Situated at the northernmost point of the reef. |
Access: By boat. |
Average Depth: 50ft |
Maximum Depth: 150ft |
Conditions: Variable, can be rough in bad-weather; calm in good-weather with currents varying with the tide, visibility up to 100ft. |
|
Most of the reef-top is a gentle slope from 10m (33ft) to 17m (65ft) with a mixture of coral heads on the sand, interspersed with fresh blast-fishing damage. Here, top-quality Soft, Leathery, Stony and Whip Corals abounds, harboring a myriad of reef fish. From 55ft there is a wall dropping to 150 ft though in some places it rises to 16ft. Large Spiny Lobsters could also be seen. The wall itself is full of caves and crevices, many of which contain Whitetip Reef Sharks and Nurse Sharks. |
Location: Situated at the south face of the reef. |
Access: By boat. To find the greatest number of sleeping Whitetip Reef Sharks in caves, line up the lighthouse with the prominent large white rock while over the drop-off. |
Average Depth: 65ft |
Maximum Depth: 150ft |
Conditions: Variable, can be rough in bad-weather; calm in good-weather with currents varying with the tide, visibility up to 100ft. |
|
Drifting west with the current, it can be possible to cover most of the face in one very long dive. The wall and reef-top are very similar to the North Face. Despite blast-fishing, majority of the dive is beautiful, with abundant reef and pelagic fish life. There are crevices, overhangs and caves on the wall, containing Whitetip Reef Sharks. In the center of the face, again are plenty of large Spiny Lobsters, a myriad of reef fish as well as a large pelagic fish life. At the western end of the face, the top of the wall becomes shallower; the reef-top offers excellent snorkeling when there is no surf running. |
